So after a really long dry spell (the last time I did a sketch was a couple years ago), I got fired up again, mostly by a) being pissed at this guy who made a mod for Dragon Age to make the already-too-thin female models even thinner, b) Peter Morwood’s discussions about proper armor for women, and c) my hatred for the open-from-neck-to-chest leather armor in the game.

Had a bad moment when I found my old scanner didn’t work with Windows 8.1, but found a driver for Vista that works well enough. Can’t use the fancy HP software, sadly, but I never depended on it.

Naming the nameless Orlesian Wardens sent to the Vigil

Okay, so for a planned fic, I plan to put a name to the dozen Orlesian Wardens that stayed for less than a week and died, nameless and forgotten. Also, I will do fanart of them, just to set them in my mind and give them distinct personalities. I have an idea already for the nominal leader of the Wardens, Antoine, and you will see what he looks like when I haul out my scanner again. (Teaser: he turned out hotter than I thought. :D)

So, I know some of you have Orlesian Wardens in your fics; what I'd like to know is if you would like to give me the names (if different from the default name in the game), and what they look like, so I can do some sketches. First come, first served!

Rangers and Grey Wardens...

So I had this plot bunny pop up when I saw the "Dragon Age characters in another setting" prompt, putting Varel and Elethea in the Babylon 5 universe. I know, I know, B5 is freaking ancient history, but I can't get it out of my mind. And how like the Anla'shok - also known as Rangers - are so much like the Grey Wardens.

Here is their motto: I am a Ranger. We walk in the dark places no others will enter. We stand on the bridge, and no one may pass. We live for the One, we die for the One.

Except for the last part, it reminds me a lot of the Grey Warden motto. There's also a huge civil war story arc in B5, and... oh, down, plot bunny! Down!
